Star SP200 printer driver selection and printer driver setup

These are instructions for selecting and configuring the printer driver for trouble-free use of the standard receipt printer templates included in Point of Success.

Printer Driver Selection

These receipt templates were designed for and require the Star Line Mode printer driver. This printer driver may be downloaded at http://www.posdl.com/starlinemode.exe.

Printer Driver Installation

1. Launch the Star Line Mode driver installation program
2. Click the button labeled "Extract files for installation via Windows Add Printer Wizard"
3. Do not install the status monitor software
4. A folder named "Star" will be created in the location where the printer driver installation program was launched.
5. Install the printer by going to Start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes
6. Click Add Printer
7. Do not let Windows detect the printer and install drivers – Click the Have Disk button in the window listing printer manufacturers and printer models.
8. Click the Browse button and navigate to the Star folder created by the driver file installer
9. Double click the StarLM folder
10. Click oemprint.inf to select it and click the Open button
11. Click OK in the Install from Disk window
12. Click "Star SP212 Line Mode Printer" in the printer model list and click the Next button
13. Complete the printer installation.

Printer Driver Configuration

1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes, then right-click the printer and select Properties from the pop-up menu.
2. On the General tab, click the Printing Preferences button
3. Click the Advanced… button
4. Change the Paper Size setting to 66mm x Receipt
5. Click Ok to close the Advanced Options window
6. Click Ok to close the Printing Preferences window
7. Click the Advanced tab
8. Click the Printing Defaults button on the Advanced tab
9. Click the Advanced button in the Printing Defaults window
10. Change the Paper Size setting to 66mm x Receipt
11. Click Ok to close the Advanced Options window
12. Click Ok to close the Printing Defaults window

Note: There is no need to set the cash drawer action. Point of Success controls cash drawer operation.
Click Ok to close the printer properties window and save the settings

Printing Template Selection

Receipt printing templates designed for this printer have the printer name "Star SP200" in the template name. For example, the customer receipt template designed for this printer is named "Customer Receipt (Star SP200)." Selection of printing templates is accomplished in the Point of Success Office Manager program in the Tools center. Click Select Printing Templates in the lower right corner of this window to assign the appropriate templates.
